The puzzling phenomenon of rainfall

Rain is a form of precipitation that occurs when water vapor in the atmosphere condenses into liquid water droplets and falls to the earth's surface. This process is called the crucial part of the earth's water cycle. Rain is essential for maintaining the planet,s water balance, nourishing plants, replenishing water sources, and supporting various sources of ecosystems. Rain has the following aspects in its nature such as evaporation, condensation, cloud formation, precipitation, and rainfall.

Rain is the primary source of freshwater, playing a vital role in sustaining the ecosystem, agriculture, and human activities. The amount frequency of rainfall varies in different regions and climates. It influences the overall weather pattern and contributes to the diversity of the ecosystems around the world. Rain is the name of happiness, joy fulfillment, and solely satisfaction. It changes the whole environment and spreads out its sweet mild smell everywhere.

Global warming;

Global warming refers to the long-term increase in the earth,s surface temperature due to human activities, particularly the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. It changes the weather pattern rapidly. Due to this critical situation, the temperature gets higher, and afterward, due to high temperature the ice glaciers and caps melt as a result the sea level gets higher which has bad impacts on the atmosphere. Ocean acidification also occurs due to global warming, not only a single but many reasons are responsible for the disruption of rainfall patterns.

Consequences of rain absence;

Reduced or irregular rainfall can lead to drought conditions. Where there is prolonged water shortage issue arises. It also has bad impacts on agriculture, water supplies, water resources, and human societies. It also disturbs social, and economic systems, biodiversity, water scarcity, health risk issues, increases competition for resources, and affects nature's atmosphere badly.  We have to face the challenges of rainfall disruption with the combination of sustainable water management practices, and climate change mitigation strategies and should adopt all the means that can change or better the climate situation.

Cloud seeding;

Cloudseeding is a weather modification technique designed to enhance the precipitation in clouds, typically to enhance rainfall or snowfall. The idea behind cloudseeding is to provide additional nuclei around which the water droplets can condense and freeze. This process is intended to stimulate a larger amount and more numerous water droplets of ice crystals within the cloud eventually leading to the increase in the precipitation.

 How does cloud seeding work?

Cloudseeding works by introducing seeding agents to clouds to encourage the formation and growth of precipitation particulates. The most common seeding agents are silver iodide, potassium iodide, or liquid propane. Cloud seeding is the most effective in certain types of clouds, those that have the potential for precipitation but may not be producing it effectively. Cumulus and organic clods are often targeted. Sedding agents are dispersed into the atmosphere and carried into the clouds by various means such as aircraft,ground-based generators, and rockets.

 Air crafts are equipped with flares containing seeding agents. These flares are ignited, and these seeding agents are released into the clouds. Ground-based generator-released seeding agents into the air and these particles are carried into the clouds by natural updrafts. Rockets may also be used to deliver seeding agents into the clouds. The rockets are launched from the grounds and release the seeding material as they ascend into the cloud.

Precipitation particle formation;

The seeding agents act as nucleating providing surfaces for water droplets to condense around. In the case of silver iodide, its crystal structure is the as same ice and this similarity is enough for the formation of the ice crystal. Once the initiated the formation of the precipitation formation particles,, these particles may grow larger as collide with other droplets or ice crystals in the cloud. This increase in size can lead to a higher chance of efficient precipitation as form as snowfall or rainfall.

 When the climate situation gets alarming situation, and smog spreads everywhere then the artificial rain method is adopted by the Government. It is also noted that it is not a guaranteed method to increase precipitation its success rate depends upon many factors such as types of clouds, atmospheric condition, and specific seeding agents which is used, many scientists research it and make this method more efficient to deal the alarming situation of the climate. Many countries used this method such as the United Nations, C
hina, Australia, Europe, Pakistan, 
etc.

 Challenges in lavender to cloudseeding;

 The inherent unpredictability of weather patterns makes it challenging to control or predict the outcomes of cloudseeding accurately, raising questions about reliability as a climate change adoption tool. The localized nature of cloud seeding also limits its scope in addressing the global scale of climate change. Monitoring and scaling the measurement are also important parameters that have to be taken as priorities.

Research, collaboration, and governance;

 Advancing our understanding of the interactions between cloud seedings, weather patterns, and climate systems is crucial, to overcoming this alarming situation international collaboration is necessary to develop and share best practices for cloud seeding operations, ensuring that they are conducted responsibly and do not do a negative impact on neighborhood region. Establishing a clear regulatory framework and governance mechanism is essential to address the ethical legal environmental concerns associated with cloud seeding. This framework should help to balance more innovations to meet the challenges of rain disruption or climate disturbance.
