Introduction


The Palestine-Israel war is one of the most prolonged and controversial conflicts in modern history. It has attained the world's attention for decades. This issue not only affects Palestine and Israel but its affects the whole world's political situation. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has its roots in the late 19th and early 21st century. It began with the birth of a major nationalist movement among the Jews and among the Arabs.

History

On MAY14th,1948, the state of Israel was established, starting the Arab- Israeli war. This war ended in 1948 and Israel won it. In this war the State of Palestine was divided into three parts; the state of Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. However, the Islamic world was against the creation of Israel. Because Israelis believed that the whole of Palestine belonged to them. About 92-94% population of Palestine was Muslim but the land division favoured Israel disproportionality living West Bank and Gaza Strip for the Palestinian


The United Nations Partition Plan of 1947 proposed the division of Palestine into separate Jewish and Arab states, but it failed to bring peace. On May 14, 1948, the State of Israel was declared, and neighboring Arab countries immediately launched a military intervention. The Arab-Israeli War resulted in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and the establishing of a de facto border that did not satisfy either side.

Key Issues and Controversies issues

 The main issue that are the reasons for this war is basically mutual recognition and security, borders, water rights, control of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, and the right of freedom for Palestinians. The war arose for the land that the Jewish people considered ancestral homeland and thought that the land should belong to them. 

 The main long-term factor that contributed to the war was the Israeli effort to displace Palestinians  and occupy Palestine area and settle Israeli citizens in Palestine in the war of 1967 Israel occupied the area of Gaza and the West Bank .israel continues to expand its remaining settlements as well as new areas in the west bank. There are 144 settlements of Israel in the West Bank including 12 in East Jerusalem.

Potential Solutions

Resolving the Palestine-Israel conflict is a complex task that requires the cooperation of both parties and the international community. Several potential solutions have been

proposed over the years:

  1. Two-State Solution: This solution envisions the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, with mutually agreed-upon borders. Negotiations would need to address issues like refugees, settlements, and Jerusalem.

  2. One-State Solution: Advocates of a one-state solution propose a single, democratic state for Israelis and Palestinians. This would require addressing national identity challenges and ensuring all residents' equal rights.


  3. International Mediation: The involvement of international actors, such as the United Nations, in mediating the conflict could help both parties reach a sustainable and mutually acceptable resolution.

Conclusion;

The Palestine-Israel conflict is deeply rooted and intricate with no easy solutions. Understanding the historical context, key issues, and potential solutions is essential to appreciating the complexity of this ongoing struggle. Achieving a feeling of lasting peace in the region requires the willingness of both sides to negotiate, the engagement of the international community, and a commitment to finding common ground in the pursuit of peaceful coexistence.
